Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says he will announce his future plans on May 25, following the club’s final La Liga match of the season, amid continued speculation linking him to the Brazil national team job.
The 65-year-old Italian, who has one year remaining on his contract, is currently focused on helping Real Madrid close the four-point gap on rivals Barcelona with five league games to go. Winning La Liga would help compensate for Madrid’s Copa del Rey final loss to Barcelona and their Champions League quarter-final exit to Arsenal.

“I have a lot of affection for my club, my players, and our fans, and also a lot of respect,” Ancelotti told reporters ahead of Madrid’s league clash with Celta Vigo on Sunday.
“So I will speak about my future on May 25 and not before.”
Madrid will host Real Sociedad on May 25 in their final league fixture before heading to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14.
Ancelotti said whenever the time comes to leave Madrid, it will be a day of joy and gratitude, not conflict.
“It will be a fantastic goodbye because I have a lot of affection for the club, and it does for me too. I will never fight or argue with the club,” said Ancelotti.
“Never have I done so in six years, and I never will. Until the last day, which could be the 25th, or 2025, or 2026, or even 2030, I don’t know. But whichever day it is, it will be a very beautiful day.”
Ancelotti, who first managed Madrid from 2013 to 2015 and returned in 2021, has won three Champions League trophies and two La Liga titles across his two spells at the helm.
