Bayelsa State sits atop the medals table after Day 3 of the ongoing 2025 National Sports Festival (NSF) in Ogun State, as the multi-sport event gathers momentum across Abeokuta and other host venues.
The riverine state has amassed a total of nine medals: six gold, two silver, and one bronze, to lead the pack as the competition heats up.

Oyo State follows closely in second place with six medals, including four gold, one silver, and one bronze. Lagos sits in third with three gold, four silver, and three bronze medals, while Cross River occupies fourth position with three gold medals.

Rivers State completes the top five with two gold, three silver, and one bronze medal.
The Invited Junior Athletes (IJA) continue to punch above their weight, currently placed sixth on the table with two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
Defending champions and tournament favourites, Delta State, find themselves in an uncharacteristic seventh position with just one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
So far, a total of 71 medals have been won across the board, comprising 23 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze medals, as excitement, competition, and quality intensify at the festival.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, has urged journalists covering the Games to rely on the official medals table released by the Commission, cautioning against the use of unverified sources circulating online.
Action resumes on Wednesday across various venues, with more medals up for grabs in weightlifting, women’s badminton, squash, and other events.
