Arsenal have reportedly agreed a £34m buyout option for Real Madrid playmaker Isco this summer, now that the Spanish team’s transfer ban has finally been lifted, according toTribal Football.
Isco has long been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in recent times, since Rafa Benitez had turned him into something of an outcast and left him isolated from the team, although new boss Zinedine Zidane has since reinstated him into the first team fold.
However, that has not silenced rumours that he is set for the exit door in the Spanish capital, with reports growing that the player is looking for a new chapter in his career. If rumours are true that Arsene Wenger is attempting to engineer a move for Isco, then Manchester City may try to rival the bid, although they will have their work cut out.
It is believed that Real Madrid can only do business with Arsenal unless they receive a higher offer than the touted £34m for the player, so unless Pep Guardiola decides he wants to break the bank for Isco when he arrives, Arsenal should have an easy route to convince the player to switch to the Emirates.
Isco was linked with moves to both clubs in January, as Manuel Pellegrini once worked with the attacking midfielder when the two were at Malaga.
He then joined Real Madrid for €30m in 2013, and has since played 133 times for Los Blancos. In that time he has won the Champions League , the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Copa Del Rey.
