In a landmark move for African fashion innovation, the African Fashion Foundation (AFF) has announced a strategic partnership with Unity in Design Global Network (UDGN), a UK-based platform founded by Nigerian fashion entrepreneur Tare Isaac, to launch a new incubator and showcase initiative for Black and minority designers globally.
The partnership will support 12 emerging designers from across the African diaspora, offering tailored mentorship, brand development, and runway access — culminating in a high-impact showcase at London Fashion Week this September.
“This isn’t just a show. It’s a launchpad,” said Tare Isaac, Founder of UDGN. “Our partnership with AFF strengthens our mission to build real pipelines — connecting designers to press, stockists, and global visibility.”
AFF, led by global fashion leader Roberta Annan, brings decades of experience in fashion development and investment. This collaboration will also see AFF deliver strategic mentorship in fashion finance, investment readiness, and international scaling.

The UDGN Cultural Threads Incubator, running from June to September 2025, is a hands-on runway preparation programme designed to support 12 emerging designers across every facet of brand growth. Participants receive expert mentorship in fashion finance, marketing, PR, branding, and storytelling — with guidance from leaders across the London College of Fashion, British Fashion Council, and African Fashion Foundation.
The programme also prepares designers for post-show retail placements, ensuring they don’t just present collections — they position themselves for lasting industry success.
This partnership comes ahead of UDGN’s first showcase at Ladbroke Hall, one of London’s most sought-after cultural venues.
