The governors of the southern region of Nigeria, comprising 17 states are meeting today in Lagos.
The meeting to be hosted by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, at the Lagos House, Ikeja, by4:00pm BusinessDay gathered, will focus on devolution powers. The meeting, it was learnt will also extensively discuss the increasing agitation for the structuring of the polity.

It was further gathered that party affiliation and political ideologies of the 17 southern governors, would be downplayed, to allow the actors focus mainly on issues of common interest to the southern part of the country. The region is made of three geo-political zones, namely, South-West, South-South and South-East.
