Simplified Corporate Logistics, provider of simplified export and import solutions has called on manufacturers in Nigeria to grow their businesses from the level of attracting investors to increasing export for economic growth.
Simplified Corporate Logistics challenges manufacturers on export
This call to action was made by the Managing Director Simplified Corporate Logistic, Nduka Udeh recently in Lagos to kick-off this year’s Manufacturing Partnership for African Development exhibition held in Lagos.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director at the event, Head of Operations, Simplified Corporate Logistics, Bisola Esan in her paper titled ‘Simplifying the Import and Export Process’ identified factors that affect growth of businesses in Nigeria, especially Small and Medium businesses.
She said, ‘As much as importation and exportation are indispensable to Nigerian businesses, so is the need to pay a special attention to factors as: difficulty in sourcing Forex to buy raw materials, machinery and spare parts, delay in clearing of goods at the air and ocean ports, unreliable shipping agents, high overall procurement cost and difficulty at times in engaging trustworthy suppliers to work specifically with manufacturer from different countries globally, limited knowledge on importation and exportation business.
She further stated that Simplified Corporate Logistics is not ignorant of some of the challenges, particularly finding the appropriate company to handle logistics. She said, “We offer wide range of logistics service to clients of all sizes and needs. We are committed to excellence, while leveraging speed and transparency to reduce overall production cost of clients”.
Reiterating the importance of export to Nigeria’s economic growth, one of the keynote speaker at the exhibition, Paul Gbededo, according to a statement, emphasised the need for manufactures to move from producing enough for their families and country to having more than enough for export to other countries as export will help give the economy the much needed stability that manufacturers and business owners in Nigeria clamour for.
Simplified Corporate Logistics services include Shipping, Clearing, Warehousing, Global Sourcing and Procurement.
