Seyitan Atigarin is taking on a new role in the high-stakes world of reality television as MultiChoice has officially announced that the celebrated broadcast journalist and media entrepreneur will be hosting the brand-new dating reality series, Heartbeat.
The news comes as Atigarin prepares to guide 10 hopeful singles through a 12-week journey of romance, connection, and inevitable drama. Taking to Instagram to share her excitement, Atigarin teased fans about what’s in store: “Viewers should expect amazing television, bold personalities, and drama. It’s crazy.”
Atigarin has been a staple on the airwaves since she was 17 years old, getting her start alongside the legendary radio icon Dan Foster. Since then, she has built a formidable reputation as a TV presenter, broadcast journalist, and the founder of Abebi and The Good News Anchor, both platforms dedicated to cultural storytelling and community.
Most recently, Atigarin has been seen on some of the world’s biggest stages. As an international correspondent and head of the entertainment and culture desk at Arise News, she has provided expert coverage of the 2023 Oscars, the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the 67th GRAMMY Awards, and the MET Gala.
Premiering Sunday, January 11, 2026, on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151), Heartbeat will follow five men and five women living together in a specially designed “love pad”.
