A man since declared wanted by the police with a N30m bounty on his head has been captured alive by the Rivers State Police Command.
Honest Diigbara was arrested by a combined team of vigilantes and the Bori Divisional Police and later paraded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Joseph Makum.
Diigbara’s latest exploit is said to be the abduction of an Okrika chief killed after collecting N7m.
Other crimes pinned on him include the kidnap and killing of a lawyer, the kidnap and killing of the police Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Oyigbo in Afam, Moses Egbede – each after collecting ransom.
Diigbara was captured in the early hours of Saturday, September 12, 2020 at a party in Krokro community in Tai local council area of the state. He was said to have been spotted by the vigilante and the police team moved in and shootout ensued.
The community was believed to be his hiding locale all the while and intel had gathered around him. His driver was said to have been targeted and killed in the shoot. This must have rendered him immobile.
This has joined in the growing list of big arrests made and big crimes busted by the new commissioner of police since his arrival in the heat of the coronavirus.
