Schneider Electric, one of the global leaders in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has introduced its GoPact range of electrical solutions to the West African market.
The company announced the immediate availability of the GoPact Moulded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) and the GoPact Manual Transfer Switch (MTS), expanding its portfolio with cost-effective products tailored for simple and non-critical applications.
According to Schneider Electric, the GoPact range represents its entry-level market offering, designed to combine affordability with the company’s hallmark of quality, safety, and reliability.
“GoPact is crucial to the West African market because of the value it brings to our distribution channel and their customers,” said Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager, Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa. “It is an affordable offering, which helps us compete with low-cost brands from India and China which have entered the marketplace quite aggressively.”
Olaniyan noted that while Schneider Electric’s premium product lines are focused on large projects and mission-critical buildings, GoPact solutions are suited for applications in low- to medium-density commercial buildings, cluster housing complexes, retail outlets, mini-substations, and other non-critical industry uses.
He explained that one of the distinguishing features of the GoPact MCCB is its adjustable trip unit, which provides flexibility in application. “It can handle various electrical faults, such as short circuits and overloads, while offering basic selectivity. Its second breaking mechanism reduces fault current twice, making it suitable for minimal selectivity installations. Additionally, the GoPact MCCB comes in 3P3D and 4P4D, with all phases protected.”
The GoPact MCCB has current ratings of up to 800 amps, with breaking capacities of up to 70kA. Its trip unit options include fixed, adjustable, and electronic trip units to support a wide variety of installation requirements. The product also underscores Schneider Electric’s sustainability commitment, being packaged in 100% recycled cartons with QR codes for digital documentation.
Similarly, the GoPact MTS—ranging from 63 to 2000 amps—has been designed for compactness, space optimization, and ease of installation. Features include swivelling terminal shrouds, staggered terminals, and pre-installed bridging busbars, allowing for faster and safer deployment. The MTS also complies with international standards IEC60947-6-1 and IEC60947-3, assuring customers of reliability and safety.
Olaniyan added that GoPact’s versatility positions it well for distribution in cost-sensitive markets where panel affordability is a key consideration. “While our premium offerings are built for large-scale projects, GoPact can easily integrate into non-type tested enclosures, making it easier to sell into markets with more affordable panels.”
The launch reinforces Schneider Electric’s strategy of diversifying its product portfolio across West Africa, where demand for reliable but cost-effective energy solutions continues to grow. With increasing pressure on energy infrastructure and a fast-expanding commercial and residential sector, the company believes GoPact will support distributors, contractors, and end-users by providing a trusted alternative to lower-cost imports.
By offering a balance of affordability, robustness, and quality assurance, Schneider Electric’s GoPact solutions aim to meet the needs of the region’s evolving power sector while staying aligned with the company’s global sustainability and innovation agenda.
