Nigerians are indeed doing well in the diaspora. Currently in America, KEMI AJUMOBI had the opportunity to interview six of them and their experiences are indeed inspiring. They are our cover personalities for our Women’s Hub magazine edition for this week, available to download on our website www.businessday.ng. Their stories build hope and conviction in the truth that Nigerians are a force to reckon with, and anywhere the soles of their feet step on, their zeal and quest to excel never dies. Let this encourage us all to know that as long as we have breath and remain positive, we can achieve all we desire and that our dreams are true and valid.

What inspired you to venture into such a diverse range of businesses, spanning real estate, home improvement, driver education, beauty and lifestyle, and financial consulting? What has driven your entrepreneurial spirit?
My entrepreneurial spirit is driven by a deep passion for creating positive change and solving real-world problems. I also drew inspiration from my mother’s entrepreneurial skills which I witnessed first-hand while growing up. My husband also played a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing my entrepreneurial spirit. Ultimately, it’s about making a meaningful impact while pursuing my vision and helping others achieve their goals.
In the real estate sector, elaborate on your approach to sourcing, acquiring, and adding strategic value to real estate investments through long-term rentals.
We specifically look for properties in the ‘B’ and ‘C’ class neighbourhoods which require renovations with a view to increasing the value of the property. Tenants are then placed in these properties on a long-term basis to generate rental income. On successes, it includes double-digit return on investment, property appreciation, consistent positive cash-flow and portfolio growth. Challenges include cross border taxation (US and Canada), tenant-friendly laws (Ontario) and rent control (Ontario)
Bathtub King Refinishing, your Canadian-based home improvement company, seems to have a unique focus on catering to the needs of seniors and those with accessibility requirements. What inspired this niche, and how have you been able to differentiate your services in the market?
We acquired this business from the previous owner who had been running this model for over 40 years. This market niche was already part of the service offerings of the company and was a major attraction for the acquisition.
The brand consistency, quality and loyalty have remained the hallmark of this business. Our business model also provides an end-to-end service which includes in-house designers and contractors which is very rare in our market.
As the co-owner of Drivewise Milton and Mississauga, how have you been able to make an impact on new drivers, including new immigrants, and promote safe driving practices? What are some of the innovative approaches you have implemented in this business?
We have been able to make an impact on new drivers, existing drivers and promote safe driving practices through our various programmes, one of which is the ‘basic safe start programme’ which is a combination of several in-class and in-car lessons. We offer discounts for this programme to new immigrants.
One of the innovations in this business is the application of a blended learning approach which involves the use of electronic pads to facilitate active in-class participation. In addition, the use of our driver training simulator to familiarise our students with various driving techniques helps them become very comfortable when they eventually get on the road.
Your beauty and lifestyle business, Bimz Beauty and Lifestyle Inc., can you share more about the inspiration behind this venture and the support you’ve been able to provide to your customers?
Many women of all ages have struggled to have access to good quality wigs at reasonable prices. In severe cases, they have had their fingers burnt by purchasing low quality wigs at exorbitant prices. The inspiration for providing this service was borne out of addressing this problem.
It was also borne out of my desire to provide a happy place where women suffering from these diseases can be vulnerable, look and feel beautiful again and be on their journey to regaining their self-confidence.
Your latest endeavour, Econova Capital, allows you to leverage your experience to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and investors. What are some of the key insights and strategies you’ve been able to share with your clients to help them navigate the complexities of the business world?
Some of the key insights and strategies include but are not limited to change of mind-set (think big and dare to dream), education and research, mentorship and coaching. Some other insights and strategies include surrounding yourself with like minds i.e. entrepreneurs, observe and identify opportunities. Finally, take action (Fortune favours the brave)
As an entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio, how do you prioritise and manage your time and resources across your various business ventures? What advice would you give to others who aspire to follow a similar path?
I leverage delegation and technology. We also create systems and structures around those businesses to enable them run efficiently and effectively.
My advice to others who aspire to follow a similar path is to first seek God’s direction. Then do a lot of research and educate yourself including paying for such education and guidance, if necessary. Ask questions. Do not be afraid. Everything does not have to be perfect before you act. Things can be done one step at a time. Always think positive and speak to the right people. Understand your environment and look out for opportunities as they become available.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of your entrepreneurial journey, and how have you been able to create a positive impact on the communities you serve through your various business activities?
The most rewarding aspect of my entrepreneurial journey is time flexibility. As a wife and mother, I am able to plan and give quality time to my family irrespective of my schedule. To give back, I mentor other aspiring entrepreneurs and provide guidance and support as they navigate through their own respective journeys.
As a Nigerian in the diaspora, what narrative have you succeeded in changing about Nigeria? What do you want the world to know?
I want the world to know that we are a very hard working and industrious people. We excel anywhere we find ourselves and contribute immensely to the economy of that nation. We are smart, tenacious, resilient and dogged.

Lara’s journey began as a nurse, driven by a passion for patient care and a vision for excellence. She has also designed and implemented training programmes that have increased caregiver competency by 35%.
A sought-after speaker, Lara has shared her insights at prestigious forums, including the Miss Nigeria in Diaspora event in Chicago, where she highlighted the impact of healthcare on women’s empowerment. Her commitment to excellence and social impact continues to inspire and influence the healthcare industry, making her a role model for aspiring leaders and changemakers worldwide.
As she embarks on new ventures, Lara Alao-Ezobi remains dedicated to driving meaningful change, empowering women, and enhancing healthcare delivery on a global scale. Her resilience, innovation, and unwavering determination serve as a guiding light for those committed to making the world a better place.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, and what has driven your passion for patient care over the past 21 years?
I got into healthcare not by choice, but my love for caring for people is what has kept me in the industry. After getting into nursing, I realised I wouldn’t talk to the patients as much as I would like to but just care for them. This is how I was introduced to home health. Then, I realised immediately that this is what I was meant to do and could thrive well there.
As the Chief Operating Officer of Serenity Home Healthcare Inc., how have you been able to oversee the remarkable growth of the organisation from a small two-person operation to a leading provider with over 2,000 employees?
Over the years, we studied the market, understood the changing trends and we have diversified our care programmes to fit in with the change. When we started, we started with home health and we have now diversified our portfolio to include home care and pediatrics. We keep evolving, learning, training and growing. This has been exciting for us. Also, as we are growing our operations, we are growing and strengthening our systems and employing capable hands to manage the growth.
Can you share some insights into the strategies and innovations you have implemented to achieve a 50% increase in annual revenue growth, a 25% boost in patient satisfaction scores, and a flawless compliance record in annual audits?
Our 100% focus on patient care and satisfaction has been the driving force of our growth and employing the best hands to match each client’s needs has spurred this growth. I wouldn’t say our audit hasn’t been without any hiccups, but the feedback from the auditing agencies is what has helped us to better our services.
Your recognition from the Ajila Foundation and your honorary doctorate from Myles Leadership University, can you tell us more about your commitment to women’s empowerment and the specific initiatives you have undertaken to support this cause?
I am thankful for the recognition, but I wouldn’t have any of these without our staff. 85% of our workforce are women, both in management and on the field. This is not by design, but women are natural caregivers and leaders, they are also often drawn to what gives them joy and an environment that they can make an impact, and that is what we have created. This has also inspired us to always make sure that all our staff can thrive. Our mission is to enable our staff to thrive. Therefore, we regularly invest in career development and training opportunities to add to their careers and expand their opportunities. While hiring Africans wasn’t by design, our work has indeed supported Africans, immigrants and minority communities in a way that inspires me. Seeing people who are like me – an immigrant in the US – get to be a part of what we are building has been a great privilege.
Can you elaborate on your innovative approach to integrating advanced healthcare technologies and how this has improved patient care delivery by 40%?
Using data to collate patient/client care satisfaction has been our greatest success in the last years. It has navigated us in the right direction regarding growth, employing the best hands, resource management and most importantly, patient care.
You have designed and implemented training programmes that have increased caregiver competency by 35%. What was the rationale behind these programmes, and how have they impacted the quality of care provided by your organisation?
With the advent of technological innovation that we are seeing, it has become important that we train and retrain our staff to comply and be competitive in our industry. Our belief is, when you equip people with the right tools, they’ll be confident, motivated and committed to providing excellent care and this has shown to work for us and helped us in hiring the most competent caregivers.
You are intentional about training, why so?
You cannot get the best from anything if you do not equip yourself. Even as the owner of my business, I go through training. Nobody knows it all, we must ensure to seek knowledge and be humble enough to not only know you don’t know it all, but that you also need to learn and listen to people who know what you don’t know, or know more than you do in what you know. You must also equip your staff, recognise their strength and also encourage better training. Many companies are losing their best hands because the staff do not feel valued. If you don’t treat them well, they will leave and you will wish you treated them better.
Looking ahead, what new ventures or initiatives are you currently pursuing, and how do you envision your continued dedication to driving meaningful change, empowering women, and enhancing healthcare delivery on a global scale?
I’m committed to improving all the ventures I’m involved in and hope to extend this vision of care into Nigeria by training women entrepreneurs in this field and empowering them.
As a Nigerian in the diaspora, what narrative have you succeeded in changing about Nigeria? What do you want the world to know?
We are not a hand-me-down nation. 63% of first-generation Nigerian immigrants to the United States are college educated. I am humbled to not only have multiple degrees but to have created a business that will transcend me and become a legacy that will live beyond me.
Concluding words
Whatever opportunity we have to make a change in someone’s life, we must take it seriously and make that change. Our lives must be that of positive impact and desire to nurture personal greatness and extension of the same to humanity.

What inspired you to transition from your technical background in engineering to your current diverse roles in the nonprofit, technology, and ministry sectors?
My journey from engineering to my current diverse roles has been driven by a deep desire to create meaningful impact. Initially, my technical background in engineering, particularly my work at Silicon Valley, gave me a solid foundation in problem-solving and innovation. When I moved to Chicago, I realised there were gaps in the job market that my technical skills didn’t align with, prompting me to retrain in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. My involvement in ministry has always been a part of who I am, and it became more pronounced as I sought to combine my passion for technology with my commitment to serving others. The transition was a natural progression of my desire to empower individuals and communities through both technological and spiritual means.
Can you share some insights into your experience leading data analytics and business intelligence projects for manufacturing firms? What were some of the key challenges and successes you encountered?
Leading data analytics and business intelligence projects for manufacturing firms was both challenging and rewarding. One of the key challenges was the initial resistance to change. Many firms were accustomed to traditional methods and were hesitant to adopt data-driven approaches.
Overcoming this required demonstrating the tangible benefits of BI through pilot projects that showcased improved decision-making and operational efficiency. Another challenge was ensuring data quality and consistency, which is critical for accurate analytics.
On the success side, one of the most rewarding aspects was seeing the transformation in how these firms operated. By implementing BI and reporting solutions, we were able to optimise inventory management, streamline procurement processes, and enhance sales forecasting. We were also able to eliminate human-errors in sensitive areas like financial reporting. This not only improved efficiency but also had a significant impact on the bottom line. Additionally, training and mentoring staff to leverage these tools empowered them to continue driving these improvements long after our initial engagement.
As the Resident Pastor of KingsWord International Church and the Executive Vice President of Strategy for KingsWord Ministries Int’l, how do you balance your responsibilities in the ministry and business domains?
Balancing responsibilities in both ministry and business domains requires a strategic approach and a supportive network. Firstly, I focus on recognising and leveraging my strengths. I embrace my unique style of pastoring, which makes the work more fulfilling and manageable. Secondly, I empower others by recognising and celebrating their strengths, which allows for effective delegation. This not only lightens my workload but also enables others to take pride in their contributions.
Additionally, addressing heart issues like jealousy, bitterness, and pride is crucial for maintaining balance. By dealing with these issues promptly, I can switch contexts easily between ministry, business, and family. Leadership and capacity development are also essential. I value mentorship from both male and female mentors, and I strive to stay realistic about my capacities and limitations. I’m blessed with support from many people, incredible associate ministers who ease my pastoral duties, talented business partners, a supportive husband who believes in me, wonderful children who bring me peace, siblings who challenge and support me, friends who provide perspective, pastors who shepherd my heart, and mentors who offer their wisdom and experience.
Can you tell us more about the Career Resources Programme you initiated? What was the motivation behind this programme and what kind of impact has it had on the non-profit and church communities?
The Career Resources Programme was born out of my personal experience struggling to find a job after moving to Chicago. I realized that many people faced similar challenges in navigating their careers, especially within the church community. My motivation was to provide a platform where individuals could gain the knowledge and support needed to succeed professionally.
The programme started with my first book, ‘Wisdom for the Workplace’ and evolved into a comprehensive initiative that includes monthly newsletters, career workshops, resume clinics, and mock interviews. The impact has been profound, creating a strong career support system within my local church and beyond. We’ve seen countless stories of career transformation, with individuals gaining direction and confidence in their professional journeys. It has fostered a sense of community and collaboration, showing that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our careers.
Your work in empowering women through the ‘Thrive Women’s Conferences’, what inspired you to start this initiative, and what have been some of the key outcomes and learnings from organising these events?
The Thrive Women’s Conferences were inspired by a desire to see women not just survive but thrive in all aspects of their lives. I wanted to create a platform where women could be empowered spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. The conferences started in Chicago in 2008, expanded to Lagos in 2013, and London in 2014, and have grown significantly since then.
In 2021, we rebranded with a major virtual event that brought together 52 successful women from various fields as panelists. Over 3,000 attendees from around the world joined us, and this was when we renamed the conferences to ‘Thrive Women’s Conferences’. This rebranding was a significant milestone, reflecting our commitment to evolving and expanding our reach.
Through these conferences, we have explored themes like ‘Exposure’, which emphasised the importance of knowledge, relationships, and empathy in breaking out of limiting bubbles. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many women reporting significant personal and spiritual growth. Organising these events has taught me the power of community and the importance of addressing real issues that women face.
Your educational background is impressive, with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and various professional certifications. How have these experiences shaped your approach to problem-solving and leadership in your diverse roles?
My educational background has been instrumental in shaping my approach to problem-solving and leadership. Engineering taught me to think analytically and systematically, which is crucial for tackling complex problems. The precision and attention to detail required in engineering have carried over into all aspects of my work, whether in tech, business, or ministry.
Additionally, my professional certifications have kept me at the forefront of industry developments and have reinforced the importance of continuous learning. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing world. In leadership, they have taught me the value of strategic thinking and the need to inspire and empower others to achieve their potential.
What advice would you give to aspiring leaders who are looking to combine their technical skills with a passion for community empowerment and ministry?
My advice would be to stay true to your passion and purpose. Combining technical skills with community empowerment and ministry requires a deep sense of commitment and a clear vision of how you want to impact the world.
Start by identifying the unique skills and strengths you bring to the table and think about how they can be used to serve others. Continuous learning is essential, so never stop seeking knowledge and developing your skills. Build a strong support network of mentors and peers who can offer guidance and encouragement.
Most importantly, lead with empathy and authenticity. Understand the needs and challenges of the communities you serve and approach your work with a genuine desire to make a difference. Remember, leadership is not about being in charge, it’s about empowering others and creating lasting, positive change.
Can you share any insights into your current pursuits in Artificial Intelligence, such as the ‘Artificial Intelligence for Leaders’ course and ‘Generative AI for Business Applications’ How do you see these technologies impacting the sectors you work in, Africa and the global space?
I’m currently deeply involved in understanding and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive development and innovation. The ‘Artificial Intelligence for Leaders’ course and ‘Generative AI for Business Applications’ are part of my commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. AI has the potential to revolutionise sectors such as healthcare, education, finance, and agriculture by providing data-driven insights and automating complex processes. In Africa, AI can address critical issues such as financial inclusion, agricultural productivity, and healthcare access, significantly impacting the quality of life. Globally, AI is transforming industries by enhancing decision-making, improving efficiency, and fostering innovation. My goal is to harness these technologies to create solutions that are not only innovative but also inclusive and sustainable. The potential for AI to drive positive change is immense, and I’m excited to be part of this journey.
As a Nigerian in the diaspora, what narrative have you succeeded in changing about Nigeria? What do you want the world to know?
As a Nigerian in the diaspora, I’ve worked to change the narrative that often limits our perception to challenges and struggles. While it’s true that Nigeria faces significant challenges, there’s also a wealth of talent, innovation, and resilience that often goes unrecognised. Through my work in tech and ministry, I strive to showcase the incredible potential and achievements of Nigerians both at home and abroad. I want the world to see the resilience and determination of Nigerians. I see it every day at my church in Chicago, where I am surrounded by incredible people who are pushing the envelope and striving to lead in their respective fields. I feel blessed to pastor such amazing individuals and to be a pastor who inspires them to continue the great work they do. I want the world to know that Nigeria is not defined by its problems, but by the solutions its people are creating every day. Nigerians are resilient, resourceful, and innovative. We are making significant strides in various fields, from technology and business to arts and culture, contributing meaningfully to the global community. By focusing on these achievements, we can change perceptions and highlight the true potential of Nigeria and its people.
Concluding words
In conclusion, my journey has been one of continuous growth, innovation, and a deep commitment to empowering others. Whether through technology, business, or ministry, my goal has always been to create meaningful impact and drive positive change. I encourage everyone to embrace their unique strengths, pursue their passions, and never stop learning. Together, we can build a better future, one step at a time. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

What types of legal services does your firm Oduberg offer to entrepreneurs and small/mid-sized businesses?
Oduberg is a full-service law firm offering legal support to small to mid-sized businesses. Our practice areas include intellectual property, real estate, employment, and immigration, as well as assistance with business planning, contracts, and client disputes.
Can you share some of your experience in handling business transactional law, business immigration, contracts, and trademark law matters for your clients?
I have 14 years of experience in business and immigration law. With a first degree in Business Management and a law degree right after, I have always supported businesses in making the right legal decisions. My experience ranges from helping startups establish their legal foundations to protecting hundreds of small to medium size businesses with US trademark protections and assisting established companies navigate complex work visas. This breadth of experience equips me to provide strategic, informed advice that supports my clients’ growth and legal security. In a nutshell, I have helped businesses and individuals feel legally set to conduct their businesses.
How do you integrate your business management background with your legal expertise to provide strategic guidance that aligns with your clients’ overall business goals?
As a creative business owner myself, the blend of business management and legal expertise has always felt like a natural alignment. This dual perspective allows me to see all sides of a business—from formation and structure to scaling and protection. It’s like having a superpower that enables me to provide comprehensive advice that not only safeguards but also strategically enhances your business operations.
Can you tell me more about your work assisting companies with business-related visas such as O, L, H, E visas, as well as green cards like EB-1, EB-2 NIW and EB-5?
A lot of people don’t realize there are several ways to bring your expertise to the US. As Africans (as immigrants in general) there is so much excellence we’re sitting on and the US is looking for and I am passionate about sharing these options with people and helping them find their fit. For talented and ambitious individuals and teams, visas like O (for extraordinary abilities), L (for intra-company transfers), and H (temporary worker) and E (treaty investment) visas offer pathways to work stateside. Additionally, green cards such as the EB-1, EB-2 NIW, and EB-5 could be the best options to move here permanently (while making your mark toward the U.S. economy). Each of these options caters to the diverse needs and exceptional talents of immigrants, so at my firm, we are all about finding which one works for you. Whether you are a startup looking to expand internationally, or a specialised professional looking to “japa” and flourish in the US, We analyse your background, present your options and help you craft a strong, viable petition.
As a serial business founder yourself, what inspired you to launch ‘Perfete and Legally Set?’ How have these ventures helped you better understand the legal needs of small businesses?
At my core, I love to make things easier for people and I believe that’s what drives all my ventures. Perfete was born out of my own experience as a twenty-something planning my wedding. I started it as ‘Aisle Perfect’—a space to share my journey and offer tips to other brides in the diaspora. The same drive fueled the creation of ‘Legally Set’. As a business owner myself, I know firsthand how much quality legal representation costs. ‘Legally Set’ provides ready-made, industry-specific contracts that are available for a flat fee, making (this piece of) legal protection more attainable for business owners.
What motivated you to start the ‘Launch That Ish’ podcast, and how have you been able to encourage people to take the leap and launch their business ideas through this platform?
As you may have gleaned from this interview, I am a serial launcher. My brain is always working. With a back-end view into so many businesses, I feel called to encourage other people to ditch fear and launch their business ideas. ‘Launch that Ish’ is all about giving you that nudge to get going with your business idea. It’s a mix of motivation, real-talk advice, and insights from fellow entrepreneurs, designed to empower you to launch that ish!
As a respected member of the American Bar Association and the National Black Lawyers Association, how do you see your role in the legal community, and how do you aim to be a valuable advocate and advisor for your clients?
For me, everything is deeply personal. The clients I represent, the kind of work I do—it all stems from what I am fiercely passionate about. This passion clearly reflects in how I represent and advise as an attorney. As an immigrant, a creative, and a professional, I am committed to protecting individuals in these groups. I understand firsthand how crucial it is for business owners to feel secure, so I take this responsibility seriously and always advocate from this perspective.
As a Nigerian in the diaspora, what narrative have you succeeded in changing about Nigeria? What do you want the world to know?
I wouldn’t claim to have changed the narrative about Nigerians, but I am certainly striving to live up to the excellence for which we are known, especially professionally. Collectively, we Nigerians are overcoming outdated stereotypes and reinforcing our reputation for excellence. As a Nigerian, I aim to be memorable in every room, for all the right reasons, embodying and promoting our true values and capabilities.

What sparked your entrepreneurial journey and the decision to pursue multiple business ventures?
My entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by a desire to break free from the corporate world and create meaningful impact. I was already running a profitable business but referring to it as side hustles. After having my baby in 2022, I made the bold decision to leave the corporate world behind and fully embrace entrepreneurship –transforming my side hustles into multi-million dollar businesses. I was driven by a vision to build businesses and organisations that could drive real change and empower others.
Synergy Private Equity Corp has experienced remarkable growth. Can you share the story behind its creation and your approach to building the real estate investment portfolio?
Synergy Private Equity Corp was born out of a shared passion for real estate and wealth creation, coupled with a keen eye for opportunity. My co-founder and I embarked on our journey about 8 years ago with the purchase of our first property in Canada. From there, we strategically expanded our portfolio across multiple cities in Canada and subsequently into the US market. We began with single-family home investments and have since diversified our holdings to include land banking, new construction, fix and flips, and both short-term and long-term rentals. Today, we’ve successfully invested in over 60 of these investments, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to strategic growth and delivering strong financial returns.

The STEMHub Foundation is doing incredible work supporting minority professionals and youth in STEM fields. What led you to establish the organisation, and what have been some of the most rewarding outcomes?
The STEMHub Foundation was born out of a deep-seated desire to bridge the diversity gap in STEM fields. As someone who has walked this path, I know firsthand the challenges of navigating these industries as a minority. That’s why I’m so passionate about empowering others who look like me and paving the way for those coming behind me. Our programmes are designed to provide the skills, support, and mentorship needed to thrive in STEM. From hands-on workshops for students in underserved communities to skill development training for professionals, we’re equipping individuals with the tools they need to succeed. Seeing our participants gain confidence, secure scholarships, and land their dream jobs has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve already impacted over 15,000 lives, and we’re just getting started. The most rewarding part is knowing that we’re not just changing individual lives, we’re helping to shift the landscape of STEM as a whole.

You’ve received numerous accolades for your work. How have these recognitions influenced your career trajectory and ability to inspire others?
The recognition I’ve received has been profoundly humbling and validating. It serves as a powerful reminder that the hard work, sacrifices, and perseverance have been worth it. These accolades have opened doors to new opportunities, platforms, and audiences. They’ve elevated my visibility, enabling me to inspire even more people, particularly women and immigrants, to pursue their passions and break barriers. Recognition has a way of amplifying one’s message and impact. It’s fuelled my confidence, deepened my commitment to creating meaningful change, and reminded me of the responsibility that comes with leadership. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a role model and to show others that with determination and resilience, they too can achieve great things. I look forward to continuing to break ceilings and pave the way for others to follow in my footsteps.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs and leaders looking to make a meaningful impact?
My advice is to embrace your unique vision, be fearless in the face of challenges, and always stay true to your core values. Surround yourself with a supportive community, continually seek growth, and never lose sight of the impact you wish to make.
What are some of the most significant challenges you’ve faced, and what lessons have you learnt along the way?
Navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship and philanthropy has required resilience, adaptability, and a steadfast commitment to my mission. I’ve learnt the importance of self-care, the value of a strong support network, and the need to celebrate each victory along the way.
How have you approached personal and professional development amidst your many pursuits?
Prioritising my own growth has been essential. I engage in continuous learning, seek mentorship, and embrace challenges as opportunities for self-improvement. Taking care of my physical and mental well-being is also crucial for sustaining the energy and focus needed to drive my ventures forward.
As an immigrant who has navigated multiple countries, how do you reflect on your journey and the legacy you’re building?
My journey from Nigeria to Finland, Canada, and now the USA has shaped me in profound ways. I’ve experienced the challenges of adapting to new cultures and overcoming barriers, but also the immense opportunities that come with a global perspective. I’m proud of the legacy I’m building – one of empowerment, education, and innovation. I hope to inspire others, particularly immigrants and women, to pursue their dreams with fearless determination.
How do you juggle the many roles of being a mom, wife, daughter, and CEO?
Balancing my many roles requires intention, prioritisation, and a deep well of love and energy. I’m blessed to have a supportive family and team that enables me to pursue my passions. I believe in leading by example for my child, showing them the power of hard work, resilience, and pursuing one’s dreams. Self-care is also essential – I make time for activities that nourish my mind, body, and soul.
As you look to the future, what’s next for you?
The future is bright! I’ll continue to grow my businesses, deepen the impact of my philanthropic work, and inspire others to pursue their passions. I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and I am committed to breaking barriers and setting new standards in all that I do. My sights are set on expanding my real estate portfolio and building a business legacy that will endure long after I’m gone. I want to show the world what immigrants can achieve – that we can thrive beyond the corporate world and build prosperous businesses that leave a lasting impact. I’m focused on creating a legacy that will inspire generations to come, proving that with hard work, determination, and a bit of fearlessness, we can turn our visions into reality.

What inspired you to become a pastor and faith-based counsellor?
From an early age, I felt a profound calling to serve others and share the transformative power of faith. My journey into pastoral ministry and faith-based counseling was fueled by a deep desire to provide spiritual guidance and emotional support. Witnessing the positive impact of faith in people’s lives inspired me to dedicate myself to helping others find hope, purpose, and healing through the Word of God.
How do you approach teaching the gospel and counseling people?
For me, teaching the gospel begins with living it out daily. I’m the first “Bible” people read, so I strive to embody the principles I preach. I diligently study the Bible, meditate on its teachings, read books that deepen my understanding, pray, and listen to messages from other spiritual leaders.
In counseling, I recognise that each person and situation is unique. I seek wisdom from the Holy Spirit and collaborate with other professionals. As an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), I have access to a wealth of resources to aid me in providing effective counseling.
What are some of the key initiatives or programmes you oversee within the church?
One of the key initiatives I oversee is empowering women in all aspects of their lives, helping them realise their potential and purpose. In the children’s ministry, I am also dedicated to nurturing children by partnering with parents to provide a solid foundation for their faith and equip them to navigate the world confidently.
Similarly, in the teen’s ministry, we focus on guiding young people through their formative years, instilling values and skills to serve them throughout their lives.
