May & Baker Plc has expressed the company's readiness to partner with foreign investors

I personally love to hear an employer boast of his/her employee and the signal I get when I hear such an employer talk highly of his/her staff is that, this is what ‘fruitful job ‘ should be.  It is one thing to have a job and another thing to be working the way  your employer and clients will forever  remember and cherish your services.  Some people have jobs but they are not really ‘working’ in the real sense.

There are establishments you walk in, you meet under-paid staff with very high IQ and perfect work Efficiency/Experience but they still do their work diligently. They have been adding so much value to the company they work for but somehow, the company feel, less concerned about treating him/her with respect and proper recognition. Such ugly attitudes from employers have made some flakey and not-so-strong employees do all kinds of ugly stuff to ruin the company when their patience run out.

There have been cases of employees defrauding their companies due to the ugly treatment they get from them. Every employer should be fair enough to give to credible and hard working employees what are due to them professionally. Knowing that your employees are working hard, adding value to your company growth and you are pretending not take notice and paying them peanuts sucks!  It is an act of wickedness on the part of the employers who treat efficient employees badly.

I would never advocate for employees who get such ugly treatment from their work places to defraud or run their company down but rather speak out and make their stand known and obvious to their employers. Who ever tells you that it is impossible for you to get better jobs somewhere else? Have you thought about your life vision and destiny? Why must you be stuck at a job that hardly recognizes your intelligence, efficiency, and professionalism?

Now, I see working women who keep quiet about being used at their work place as being afraid to speak out or explore  new opportunities.  As a career/working/business woman, you must be ready to explore new opportunities and bold enough to speak out to your employer in a decent manner. When you discover that your services are not appreciated both in kind and cash, approach your boss and make your stand clear. The worst part of such mean employers is that, they know that you are adding value to their company but they look at you as being timid and not knowing what you want and who you really are. Do not be fooled that they do not see your efforts and contributions. To such employers, till you shake them up and make them understand  you deserve more, they will never give you what you deserve. This is not about harassing your boss, but you must approach him/her in a way that she/he must understand that you are being treated unfair while contributing so much to his company growth and success. Let me also make it clear here that you must be sure that you are pretty much efficient and have made some meaningful contributions to the company before you talk to your boss about your work status.

Some employers use this opportunity to fire some employees who challenge them and speak out about their bad treatment but those of them who still have some good conscience, will go home and think about what you told them. Again, your boss within him/her will now know you are simply not an idiot for keeping quiet all along while being ripped-off!

It’s pretty sad honestly, when you see  employees with so much talents, skills and employers just see them as morons who have nothing better to do…any dreams to pursue in life. Oh yes, that is how you employers see such persons ? Am i mistaken? Sorry if you are reading this and you belong to such brutal employers who fold their hands and wait for hard working employees to talk or cry before you realise what to do.  If an employee is being treated well, she will always protect you the boss, the company and will never allow anything bad to happen in the company. All kinds of nasty stories we hear that happen in various establishment happen because there are some silent aggrieved employees who have been ripped –off and not being treated well. Most of them will be rumbling in the inside and will hardly speak out. Their own speaking out will be – destroying the company’s image and doing all kinds of nasty deals within the company and you, the employer will not know where your misfortune is coming from.

As an employee, the age where you allow others deprive you of your hard work has gone.  If you really know your worth, you will know how to go about making your case known to your company.  Forget about being the bad cop here; you should speak out because you are fighting a good cause and not just making empty noise. Every hard working employee is entitled to a good wage, good welfare package and friendly working environment.

If you know your worth and fold your hands, waiting for your employer to change, you will wait for ever. The only way such exploitative employers change is when you speak out…in a polite and decent manner!

Some companies have workers associations where they meet and talk about employees issues but such groups hardly function well. The leaders will always do their own ugly runs by not reporting well on behalf of the workers and getting what is due to them. The management will bribe them to always subdue the other workers from complains. So it now falls on your lap as an individual who knows what she wants to go all out to get what you deserve from your employer.

Before you challenge your employer on the ugly treatment you get at your work place, ensure that you have prepared yourself very well. Try and have a backup job  incase you get fired so that you have something to fall back to.  Trust me, you can only add more value to your self image if you make your stand known to your employer because your employer already knows your value and could be waiting for you to speak out. Again, be very sensible and polite when speaking out  about your work conditions so it does not backfire!

For the employer out there whose main job is to exploit credible employees and waiting for them to cry out before being treated fairly, change your ways and be a little nice.  Be  an understanding and appreciative employer!!!
