Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a €100 million move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen if contract renewal talks with Vinicius Jr collapse.
Osimhen, who has been in sensational form for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig, has emerged as a top attacking target for Los Blancos as they plan for possible changes in their forward line.
Vinicius was instrumental in Real Madrid’s 2023/24 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund, but his status in the squad has shifted since the arrival of Kylian Mbappe.

The French superstar has become the club’s new poster boy, while Vinicius’ role has reportedly diminished under new manager Xabi Alonso.
According to Spanish media Fichajes, Real Madrid view Osimhen as the ideal striker to free Mbappe from the centre-forward position and restore him to his preferred left-wing role, but only if Vinicius refuses a contract extension.
The Brazilian’s current deal runs until June 2027, but he has reportedly informed the club that he will not renew under the current strained relationship with Alonso, as reported by Sky Sports.
Real Madrid believe signing a powerful, aerially dominant striker is key to fixing their attacking imbalance. Osimhen fits that profile perfectly. Since joining Galatasaray, the 26-year-old has scored 46 goals and provided seven assists in 53 matches across all competitions, making him one of Europe’s most prolific centre-forwards.
However, signing him will not be easy. Galatasaray paid €75 million to sign him from Napoli and are unwilling to sell without a significant profit.
Any deal is expected to exceed €100 million, but Real Madrid consider the investment worthwhile given Osimhen’s sporting and commercial value.
