Efesa Ewere, Chairman of ICSAN Lagos State Chapter told BusinessDay that the theme was inspired by the regulatory shifts in the corporate environment, ESG demands and AI disruptions.
On the kind of shifts, she explained that they are not just about AI, even with ESG demands, with the CAMA 2020, there have been some rapid transformation in governance. “We have sustainability reporting demands or expectations from even the Federal Financial Reporting Council. We have from SEC, we have CBN policies, and all of these conversations have been going around or coming on with professionals within their corporate environment. So, it’s just an avenue or a forum for professionals to discuss and see if it’s better maintaining our old models or face our new realities”.
The summit, according to her will be a good platform for practitioners or professionals in various sectors to come together in Lagos to discuss these shifts and how they have met with them, particularly in managing stakeholders’ demands.
Efesa said ICSAN has lined up a number of speakers and corporate governance experts to speak at the forum slated for October 30, 2025.
She said that corporate governance is a system of activities introduced to assist in promoting businesses which will impact positively on the general economy. Corporate governance assists organizations to thrive, she said.
