Two members of the House of Representatives have defected form the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers are; Peter Akpanke, who represents Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal Constituency of Cross River State, and Paul Nnamchi, representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency in Enugu State.
Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House, read their defection letters during plenary on Tuesday.

In his letter, Akpanke cited internal crises within the PDP as the reason for his departure. Nnamchi, on his part, attributed his decision to a leadership tussle in the Labour Party.
