…Those throwing stones at me have no achievements to campaign with

Ahead of the Nov. 8 Anambra state gubernatorial election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a 21-member governorship campaign council led by Sir Arinze Awogu as chairman, with notable figures such as Engr. Chidi Oji, Barr. Kingsley Ezekwelu, Sam Oraegbunam, Hon. Tim Ifediora, and Dr Obi Ndigwe, among others.

The party faithful defied the heavy downpour in Awka early hours of Tuesday to witness the formal inauguration of the council.

Excitement and chants of solidarity rent the air as the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, mounted the podium with his running mate, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, flanked by APC leaders and supporters.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of APC faithful, Ukachukwu said that it has been destined that he will be elected the next governor of the state.

“We will take over Anambra, create
jobs, drive industrial growth, and reposition the state as an economic hub in the South East.

“We will ensure water supply, the taps will run in cities, our hospitals are glorified mortuaries currently, it is not certificates that make people, but what you have in your brain.

“I am a billionaire. I cannot owe billions. Those throwing stones at me have no achievements to campaign with. That is why they resort to name-calling. Look at Anambra today; it is ranked 33rd in the economic index. Is that the great Anambra we all dream of? Certainly not.

“Those who blackmail me before their present position bowed when they saw me because they know I am not their equal.

“They discuss us, my deputy and myself because they know we are working. Speaking English language will not put food on the table. They are too small for me to discuss,” Ukachukwu told the cheering crowds.

He stated that his mission is to ensure that Ndi Anambra get nothing short of the best in governance. “The wind of glory is about to envelop Anambra. I charge every member of this campaign council to go out, be proactive, and carry this message to every community.”

In her remarks, the deputy governorship candidate, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, emphasised that the APC team was coming with a fresh agenda — one focused on empowering the people and unlocking access to opportunities at the federal level.

“What we are bringing is empowerment. What we are bringing is linkage to the centre where Ndi Anambra will benefit more. This is not about insults or name-calling. Politics is about solutions, and APC is committed to rescuing Anambra,” she declared, drawing loud applause.

The State Chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, praised the resilience of party members and urged the campaign council to sustain the momentum.
