Official information coming from the ruling All Progressives Congress seems to be suggesting that the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is yet to inform the party about his alleged resignation.

Responding to enquiries about the claim that Ganduje, who is the former Governor of Kano State, has resigned on health grounds, Bala Ibrahim, National Director of Publicity of the party, told BusinessDay that the party is not aware of the alleged resignation.

“I am just hearing it as you are hearing it, for us as a party, we have no information on what we are hearing.

“As a professional journalist of many years of experience, who is trained to be on the side of truth and accuracy before reporting any occurrence, I cannot confirm what we are hearing.

“What I can say now is that we don’t have any information on the trending news that the National Chairman has resigned. Thank you”, Bala, a former correspondent of the BBC English Service, stated.

Meanwhile, several online news channels have been awash with the news of the resignation of Ganduje.

The online news outlets attributed the source of the story to an X post by a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad on Friday.

Ahmad wrote: “The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”
