The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed delight over its performance in the legislative by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, August 16, 2025, across 16 constituencies in 12 states, where the ruling party secured 13 victories.
Sulaiman Argungu, the party’s National Organising Secretary, who addressed journalists on Wednesday in Abuja, described the outcome as a remarkable achievement and a reaffirmation of the confidence Nigerians continue to repose in the APC.
According to him, the APC emerged victorious in Adamawa’s Ganye State Constituency, Edo’s Ovia Federal Constituency and Edo Central Senatorial District, Jigawa’s Babura-Garki Federal Constituency, Kaduna’s Zaria Kewaye and Basawa State Constituencies, and Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.
“Other wins include Kano’s Ghari/Tsanyawa State Constituency, Kogi’s Okura State Constituency, Niger’s Munya State Constituency, Ogun’s Remo Federal Constituency, Taraba’s Karim Lamido State Constituency, and Zamfara’s Kaura Namoda South State Constituency.

Argungu said, “The victories were not just numbers but a demonstration of the strength, resilience, and growing acceptance of the party nationwide.”
He noted that they reflect the trust Nigerians place in the APC to deliver purposeful leadership and good governance.
The party also announced plans to convene an interactive session in Abuja with all elected Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly members who emerged from the by-election.
The session, according to Argungu, “will serve as a platform to exchange ideas, build trust, and chart a common course for legislative engagement at both national and state levels.”
He added, “it would also strengthen alignment between the elected representatives and the vision of the APC, as well as the expectations of Nigerians.”
The National Organising Secretary extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and support, the Progressive Governors Forum for their coordination and sacrifice, members of the National Working Committee for their dedication, and party stakeholders and supporters across the country for their loyalty and commitment.
Reaffirming the party’s stance, Argungu said the APC remains fully committed to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring Nigerians that both the President and the ruling party are dedicated to their welfare, security, and prosperity.
He pledged that the APC would continue to deliver dividends of democracy and uphold the trust placed in it by the people.
He concluded by noting that while the task before the party and the country is enormous, discipline, loyalty, and unity will enable the APC to continue securing victories and delivering progress for Nigeria.
