Hashimu Argungu, Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), has stressed that effective policing in Nigeria depends not only on operational strength but also on informed policies, disciplined decision-making, and clear communication across security institutions.
Argungu made the remarks during the public presentation of the book “Articles on Policy Dissemination: Navigating the Management Decision on Issues”, authored by Bolaji Kazeem, a Deputy Director of Public Relations in the Ministry of Police Affairs.
Represented by Ikechukwu Ani, PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, the chairman said the Commission recognises communication as a central pillar of modern policing, especially at a time when institutions are under pressure to demonstrate greater accountability and responsiveness.

He praised the author for producing a timely and relevant work, noting that the book offers clarity on policy communication and guidance on sound management decisions, both of which are essential to enhancing institutional performance.
“This book represents a thoughtful contribution to the ongoing national conversation on reforms, accountability, and administrative professionalism.
“It provides insights that will enrich the knowledge base of practitioners, guide managers through complex organisational challenges, and deepen policy literacy within the public sector”, Argungu said.
The PSC Chairman added that works of this nature help strengthen the foundation of policing reforms by offering perspectives aligned with the goal of building a transparent, citizen-focused police system.
