… Deploys newly recruited constables to the 17 LGAs of the state
Emmanuel Adesina, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, on Wednesday confirmed the killing of two persons following an attack by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Daron village in Jos South Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during a press conference held at the Command Headquarters in Jos, Adesina said “the attackers invaded the community late Tuesday night but were repelled by police personnel who swiftly responded to the distress call”.
He added that more security operatives have been deployed to the troubled area to restore calm and prevent further escalation.

According to sources within the community, the attack occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, leaving residents in panic as gunshots rang out.
However, the cause of the violence remains unclear as police said investigations are ongoing to unravel the motive and identify those behind the assault.
In a related development, the CP has deployed 174 newly recruited police constables to the 17 local government areas of Plateau State as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots policing and enhance security response.

The police commissioner cautioned the new officers against engaging in bribery and other corrupt practices, urging them to be content with their salaries and allowances. He emphasized that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to professionalism and service to the nation.
Adesina further charged the officers to be diligent, disciplined, and dedicated to their duties, reminding them that policing is a noble calling centered on protecting lives and property across the country.
