The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has dismissed claims by Isaac Omolehin alleging that the fellowship instructed churches in Nigeria and overseas to stop him from preaching.
Omolehin had said that a church in Canada barred him from ministering upon arrival, allegedly citing a PFN directive. He also claimed that a church in Cape Town received the same instruction but ignored it, and that churches in Nigeria were asked to deny him the pulpit.
In a statement issued by Yemi Davids, PFN Lagos State chairman, the fellowship described the allegations as false and without basis. Davids said that neither the PFN at the state level nor the national body issued any directive, formal or informal, restricting Omolehin or any minister from preaching.
The PFN stated it was “completely unaware of the events” described by Omolehin and “categorically denies any involvement or complicity.” It emphasised that the organisation’s mission is grounded in spreading the Gospel globally, not silencing ministers.
The fellowship asked Omolehin to provide evidence supporting his claims, including names of churches, individuals involved, or any written or recorded communication linking PFN to the alleged incident. It said it is ready to investigate any credible information that may arise.
PFN leadership also noted that Omolehin did not approach the fellowship privately for clarification before making his allegations public, contrary to biblical principles encouraging direct communication in resolving misunderstandings.
Despite the controversy, the PFN expressed respect for Omolehin and extended goodwill toward his ministry, stressing that unity, transparency, and the advancement of the Gospel remain its priority.
The statement added that the fellowship is focused on encouraging churches to keep their doors open to sincere ministers and to uphold cooperation and love, especially at a time when Nigeria faces challenges including insecurity and attacks on citizens and worshippers.
Davids reiterated the PFN’s commitment to peace, compassion, and prayer for healing across the country.
