Molade Adeniyi is the Chief Executive Officer, Teach For Nigeria. She is a visionary leader dedicated to empowering children and youth across West Africa. Before joining Teach For Nigeria, she served as the CEO of West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE) for nearly six years, focusing on equipping young people with essential skills and opportunities. Her leadership at WAVE was marked by significant growth and impactful initiatives.
A registered Pharmacist in Nigeria and the UK, Molade holds a Senior Management Program certificate from Lagos Business School and a postgraduate diploma in Strategic Management and Marketing from King’s College, University of London. Her extensive experience encompasses business development, operational and strategic management, fundraising, and financial sustainability.
Recognised for her leadership excellence, Molade is a 2021 Perennial Leadership Fellow and a 2021 West Africa Acumen Fellow. She actively contributes to Women in Management, Business, and Public Sector (WIMBIZ), serving on committees and mentoring young women.
She is a highly motivated and experienced business manager, with extensive experience delivering various multi-functional projects, ranging from HR, to B2C business transformation/change management, investor sourcing, branding and co-marketing, as well as, deal and contract negotiations with 3rd parties.
As a social entrepreneur with focus on youth unemployment across Africa with particular experience in Nigeria, West Africa, she has engaged in various collaborations with stakeholders from government to educators, employers, policy makers, and so on. With vast experience in accessing grants through value and impact creation and proposal writing, Molade is passionate about supporting young people and levelling the playing field so that many more youths can access opportunities and improve their livelihood.
Molade Adeniyi is an experienced leader and administrator with a strong, rare and unique balance of health services and commercial skills, required to excel in businesses with challenges around resource productivity/skillsets and team dynamics. Furthermore, she is also passionate about structure within organisations.
She is experienced in operational and strategic management of large complex business transformation and expansion initiatives, incorporating multiple geographically dispersed project teams with values ranging to circa $150,000 and team sizes up to 120 direct FTE.
Molade remains deeply convinced that education is one of the most powerful tools for changing the world. According to her, while Nigeria has made important strides, we still have a long way to go. She says that far too many children in our public schools struggle to read a full sentence or solve basic math problems by age 10. “Beyond academics, the social and emotional skills that young people need to thrive and lead are also falling short.” Molade said.
