Telephones are no longer considered a luxury but a necessity. People of all ages are having one form of mobile telephone or the other. Kids can’t imagine not having a mobile phone to chat with their friends. Some even use their phone to keep in touch with their parents while in school or on vacation and so on. At least, we’re communicating more with each other, but it has also become a monthly expense that can get out of control.

Many feel so bitter when they calculate their phone bill each month and discover how much they went over budget. If you’re spending more than you should, then it’s time to take a good close look at your bill and determine if you really need all those extra bills or charges from your network provider.

For instance, ring back tones are fun, but do you really need them? Can you do without call forwarding and call waiting? How often do you text message? If you don’t regularly use these extras that you pay for cancel them and save.

Some providers do gives their subscribers free minutes call, lower rates and even free services. There is lots of competition out there but be sure you have the tariff plan that’s right for you even if you pay more.

If you’ll be talking more in the evening hours make sure you get their definition of night hours. Roaming charges can take a big bite out of your pocket and vary with the provider.

Find the right plan for you carefully review how often and in what ways you use your phone. Ideally, you should do this before you sign in any of the network service provider tariff plan, but of course it can be difficult to know exactly how you’ll use your phone until you spend time with it every day.

If you’re already using your phone, take a close look at your plan, examining the calling, messaging, and data options you’ve chosen. Then scrutinize your usage pattern. Check several months of phone bills to see whether you pay for more minutes and megabytes than you use, or whether you regularly exceed your usage limits.

Prepaid billing is advisable for your phone service to save money. After all, it guarantees that you pay only for minutes that you use. And prepaid tariff have come a long way in recent years.

When it comes to texting, you probably think that you have to pay for text messages. But you have another alternative, and it’s free. You can make use of your phone app to text at no charge. Free texting apps which include Nimbuzz, WhatsApp, and facebook among many others let you text messages for free.

You may have to get your friends or family to sign on in order to obtain completely free texting, but convincing them of the app’s merits is likely to be worth your while.
