Nigerian e-payment company, Paga now has over six million people using platform to carry out various transactions.
According to the company, there are 6,004, 442 users with over 11,000 agents servicing more than 5,400 businesses.
According to the company’s chief executive officer and founder, Tayo Oviosu, the new milestone was a commitment to service and the trust many people have in Paga.
Paga works on the most basic SMS enabled phone and on mobile networks giving customers the liberty to have their Paga account available on their finger tips regardless of what phone or network they are using.
With Paga customers can send money to anyone with a mobile phone. They can either use it by themselves if they own an account or by going to any Paga agent. Other services include buying and selling airtime credits, bill payments and retail payments. For ultimate convenience, the company provides several channels for consumers to use Paga via SMS, online, a mobile application, USSD, or IVR (automated line).
Paga which is in partnership with several electricity, also recently announced that customers in Plateau, Benue, Bauchi, and Gombe can now conveninently pay their electricity bill using the Paga platform.
According to Tayo Oviosu, Paga is also making efforts with partnership talks ongoing with Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to enable customers in Ibadan, Oyo state pay their bills on the platform.
