The Ogun State Government says an initiative to modernise its eight technical colleges is underway.
During an inspection of ongoing rehabilitation work at Government Technical College, Ajegunle, in Ewekoro Local Government Area, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan, the State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, highlighted the significance of education and skill acquisition in driving sustainable growth.
“The whole idea is that you cannot have economic transformation without prioritising education and skill acquisition, which are essential for the State’s growth,” said Olabimtan, who also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP).

OGSTEP Project Coordinator, Mrs Mosunmola Owo-Odusi, represented by Project Manager Mr Fatai Osunsanya, assured that the renovated college would feature world-class infrastructure. The project’s engineering team, led by Engr. Kayode Oseni, expressed confidence in meeting completion deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Chief Ogunpola expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for prioritizing the technical college’s rehabilitation and pledged his community’s support in maintaining and securing the facility.
