War Dogs

This movie created a lot of mixed feeling because a lot of people were not sure what to expect, we kind of guessed it might have been a kind of war mafia movie having to do with capons and businesses, well, our thoughts weren’t farfetched at all. Judging from the beginning, you might be too quick to just rule this movie out because the main action started minutes down into the movie. So you need to pay detailed attention and be a little patient so that you get a hang of the entire movie. Ok so did I enjoy the movie? yes funnily I did, I was really worried that I wasn’t going to but then they proved me wrong. The 1hr 45mins movie wasn’t too long at all for a business mafia movie. The time went by so quickly that we had no clue the end was near. We sincerely felt that the producer could have added some more scenes at the end but then, they had their reasons and it really did end well. The movie had a good script and the production was brilliant. The movie put a peep into how bids are scouted for on the US security website for small contracts left by the big companies. These bids could run into millions, and this was legit cool businesses. The movie featured act like Miles Teller, Bradley Cooper, Ana de Armas, Jonah Hills and much more.

So war dogs started really slow and then moved into the action, apparently, two best friends lost touch for a while and connected again years after at the funeral of one of their classmate. They exchanged pleasantries and went for a drink, there they discussed what they have been into and if they had achieved their dreams, well they found out neither had really achieved all. So Efraim introduced David into his business, he explained that he needed a partner and he wanted a friend he could trust. He proposed that they co-owned the business. This was the beginning of the action scenes, they worked day and night scouting through the US security website to see if they were contracts that they could bid for, these were referred to as crumbs on the website.

Sometimes these small contracts could run into millions of dollars and the profit margin was usually good. Efraim was David’s child hood friend although they had issues in the past, they still got along well. Efraim was greedy and didn’t want to pay the partners of the last deal and so they messed the whole deal up for them. He also wanted to cheat his friend David of his 30% share of the company, things got really bad they got caught by the FBI and were sent to jail and house arrest respectively. The bad part about this movie is how they tasted wealth and affluence and in one day went back to nothing. All because Efraim was so greedy to pay the lowest workers a mere 100,000 dollars from a 300m dollar deal. Lesson learnt never be too greedy not to pay your partners because they could bring you down in one night. If you are looking for something to watch and relax this weekend then this is definitely a must watch.
