Akinyede Kolawole Johnson, popularly known as Kaj Akinyede, a singer, born and bred in Lagos, who came to limelight with his 2017 song, “Amope,” in collaboration with Gongo Aso singer, 9ice has disclosed that no matter what the future holds, he will always be doing music.
“I have other talents and I have side hustles, but music is my main passion, and if truly you are a musician, and music flows in your blood, you don’t call it quits with doing music. That holds for me. No matter what the future holds, I know I will forever be in music,” Akinyede stated.

Music fans are hardly surprised when they learn for the first time that Akinyede Kolawole Johnson, popularly known as Kaj Akinyede, attended a music school, because, as one fan said, “there is something extraordinary about his songs.”
Speaking recently at a red carpet event in Ikeja, Lagos, the Afrobeat artiste avowed that he can excel in other creative disciplines if he chooses to fully explore his talents. “If I were not doing music, I could take to acting or producing movies or become a professional dancer or a comedian and still be successful because I have natural talents for those professions,” he said.
Speaking further, Kaj Akinyede revealed that not all of his time is devoted to music but also to side hustles. “I do IT stuff as an Informatica developer and I also work with Amazon,” he revealed.
Kaj Akinyede, who disclosed that he is working on an album project he expects will mature soon, avowed that he has come thus far in the music industry as an independent artiste. “Since the past eight years, I have been doing my music as a solo artist without a record label and so far, I haven’t fared badly,” he said.
