…Distributes enrollment devices
As part of measures to facilitate the National Identity Number (NIN) enrolment, the Federal Government has sent out monitoring and evaluation teams across various (NIN) enrolment centres aimed at ensuring the smooth running of enrolment and modification exercises across the federation
Abisoye Odusote-Coker, the director-general of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja. He noted that the Federal Government has also approved the distribution of additional enrolment systems to the 36 states as part of steps to tackle NIN enrolment challenges and increase operational capacity.

Odusote-Coker said, “They have since been installed and in use across all the states and have not only resulted in the reduction of time spent by applicants but has also increased the number of applicants attended to daily”, a statement by Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s head of corporate communications, said.
According to NIMC, the evaluation team would also ensure strict compliance with her zero-tolerance stance against all forms of extortion and unethical practices.
Coker-Odusote had emphasised that her administration would not condone extortion of applicants and had since directed that any staff found wanting should be dealt with in line with the provisions of the constitution and extant public service rules.
She said the provision of additional enrolment devices underscored the commitment of the commission to streamline operations and enhance overall effectiveness.
