Wiz STEAM is expanding its work in digital learning as more schools across Nigeria seek practical tools to prepare learners for future careers. The company has spent four years supporting students and teachers with STEAM training and continues to record significant outcomes in national and regional competitions.
In 2025, its learners secured the three highest positions in the Coderina coding challenge, won the Robotics Galaxy title at the Battle of Bots in Nigeria, and reached the final three of the GLO Innovate competition.
Speaking on the motivation behind the work, Ruth Okechukwu, CEO/Cofounder, said, “During my school days I realised our education system left little room for hands-on or project-based learning. That insight sparked the idea for Wiz STEAM. We set out to nurture the talent of Nigerian students and, to broaden that impact, we introduced the Chimbit robotics kit. It allows schools to explore digital technology through practical experiences.”
To widen access, Wiz STEAM has created the Chimbit robotics kit for pupils from Year 2 to Year 12. The kit aligns with the national curriculum and supports block-based programming under Digital Literacy. It also introduces text-based coding under Digital Technology, including Python and JavaScript. Chimbit offers a route into electronics, robotics, coding, IoT and artificial intelligence for young learners. It is currently used in private and public schools across the country.
Wiz STEAM plans to expand its reach as more schools adopt tools that support coding, robotics and digital problem-solving for learners across Nigeria.
