Dare Adeyemi and Bridget Adeyemi, Founders of Lekkiajahikoyi Property Investment Limited have asserted that companies that are active in Nigeria’s tough business environment learn great lessons of survival every day.
“A tough year, for instance, helps me to improve in strategy and preparing for unforeseen circumstances is a skill that anyone operating in the Nigerian market has to develop,” they stated.
Last year, Lekkiajahikoyi Property Investment Limited won the 2018 Young Entrepreneur Award for Best Real Estate Marketing Company.
Lekkiajahikoyi Property Investment Limited reputedly has one of the largest followings on Instagram. Also, the company, according to its founders, was the first to start the marketing of real estate on the social media app.
Adeyemi further divulged the big lessons he and his wife have learnt about doing business in Nigeria. “Entrepreneurs that are serious have no excuse for failing. The Nigeria population must be converted to business advantage,” he said.
Drawing from their experience at Lekkiajahikoyi Property Investment Limited, Dare Adeyemi offered young and aspiring entrepreneurs a piece of advice on how to break even in their business ventures. “Give yourself time, don’t be too much in a hurry, at the same time, you have to be consistent,” he offered.
To young and aspiring entrepreneurs, the founder and director of Lekkiajahikoyi Property Investment Limited, admonished: “Don’t be afraid to start small.”
He offered lessons from the initial challenge they encountered in their journey of entrepreneurship. “In the beginning, gaining clients’ trust was a big challenge for us because everyone wanted to deal only with old and experienced real estate brokers. No one wanted to risk transacting with new, unknown companies. Things will always be tough for you when you are new.”
Continuing, he averred: “But we did not relent; we were steadfast and by our consistency, we scaled the hurdle.”
