Cross River State House of Assembly member representing Boki 11 Constituency, Jacob Otu-Enyia, has given out seven cars, motorcycles, cash, and various skills empowerment materials to members of his constituency.
Otu-Enyia told BD SUNDAY that his empowerment programme, which gulped N14 million, has touched many members of his constituency, cutting across the six electoral wards of the constituency.
He said the empowerment programme was his contribution to the development of his constituency and to alleviate the suffering of his people.
“My empowerment programme is a sure way of remembering my people and to say thank you for the mandate given to me to represent them.
“I have also awarded full tertiary institution scholarship to 14 students from my constituency, and over 300 youths have also benefited from my various skills acquisition programmes.
“I have also granted relieve materials to disasters affected persons as well as settlement of hospital bills to many individuals in and across my constituency,” he said.
He appealed to those who have not benefited to exercise some patience, adding that the next phase would accommodate them. Presenting the items on behalf of the benefactor, John Owan-Enoh, member representing Etung/Obubra in the Federal House of Representatives, enjoined the people to continue their support for People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Owan-Enoh urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items given to them.
One of the beneficiaries and a physically challenged, Christian Busa-Odu, who was empowered with a cash sum of N100,000 commended Otu-Enyia for his excellent representation in the Assembly.
Busa-Odu, who thanked the lawmaker for his kind gesture, described him “as a man of the people” who uplift the lives of his constituents.
Also, Kelly Etta, who was empowered with a car, said the lawmaker has mastered the keys of building others up.
