Barely five days to the inauguration of the Kogi State Governor-elect, Yahaya Bello, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has warned the outgoing administration of Capt. Idris Wada against selling off government assets as well as awarding last-minute ‘shady contracts’.

Haddy Ametuo, state chairman of the party, gave the warning weekend in Abuja in a statement he personally signed.
He said: “The party has information to the effect that the outgoing administration, which has already incurred nearly N50 billion debt for the incoming administration, is hell-bent on awarding phony contracts as well as auctioning some government properties at ridiculous prices.
“It has come to our notice that the outgoing Capt. Idris Wada-led PDP administration has embarked on the illegal sales of government properties and careless looting of the state treasury.
“We are also not comfortable with the unwholesome manners of awarding major contracts at this dying minute when the governor should be preparing to hand over to our great party, the APC,” he said.
