The US Embassy in Abuja and Consulate in Lagos will take a one-day break today for Presidents’ Day – an American holiday that celebrates US presidents past and present.

“The U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day. We will resume normal operations on Tuesday, 18 February 2025,” the US diplomatic mission announced on X (formerly Twitter).

“If you need a US visa or have other regular business with the embassy, you’ll need to wait until Tuesday. Special contact options will still be available for emergencies only. Regular services will start again on Tuesday, February 18.

“This holiday happens every year on the third Monday of February in the United States”.
