Soludo raises alarm over zoning agreement distortion in Anambra

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has alleged plots by some guber candidates to distort the zoning agreement for the rotation of power among the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

Recall that at the expiration of the two term administration of former Governor Willie Obiano from Anambra North Zone, the agreement went full circle among the South Central and North District, which led to the emergence of Governor Soludo from Anambra South Senatorial District.

Speaking at the stakeholders rally of all the political parties at the weekend in Anambra North Senatorial District at Otuocha Township Stadium, Anambra East local government area Soludo stated that; “We are not contesting with anyone and infact we don’t have opponents contesting the Nov. 8 gubernatorial election.

“Some from Anambra South are saying that they will do one term and I tell you that some of them are plotting to distort the zoning arrangements and the agreement in our dear state but I tell you that it will not work.

“After my eight years in office the gubernatorial position would go Anambra Central and after eight years of Anambra Central it would go to Anambra North again.

“Some people are contesting to raise money for the election in 2025 and if they bring money collect it and we shall meet at the election and I can assure you that they will see what will happen, and assured that there is nothing to fear about”, he said.

Chinedu Obidigwe, immediate past lawmaker of Anambra East and West Federal Constituenc, recalled that the entire communities in Anambra North stands to give you seven local government over seven local government come November 8, 2025 Gubernatorial Election.

“We shall never loose any local government or ward in Anambra North because we are good to go”, he noted.

Chu Chu Onyema, ex-lawmaker, Ogbaru Federal Constituency under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) observed that “Soludo is the governor of everybody and we assure you that Anambra North Senatorial District would support your second term ambition.”

Gabriel Onyenweife, former representative of Oyi Ayamelum Fedora Constituency noted that, “It is the resolve of the entire people of Anambra North that you go for second tenure and this is not just an APGA affair.

“This resolve is the resolution of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), Young Democratic Party (YPP) among others.

“Some of us were in APGA and later joined the PDP, but today we all are supporting you for the Nov. 8 guber election in our dear state, despite the political party divided.”

Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, State Chairman of APGA described the occasion as a manifestation that unity of purpose for the recognising of the good works of Mr Governor.

“We in APGA appreciate the unity and great support of the entire 16 political parties in Anambra North for this support”, he said.
