Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir on Friday urged Christians to show Kindness to one another as they celebrate this year’s Easter.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Governor Bala’s Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.
The governor described Easter as a period of deep spiritual reflection and a solemn reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, redemption, and hope exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
He emphasised the importance of embracing values such as peace, love, humility, honesty, and selflessness—virtues he said transcend religious lines and are essential for societal harmony and growth.
According to the Governor: “This season calls for sober reflection. Let us examine how we have lived, how we treat one another, and how we can be better citizens and a more united people. May we find the strength to forgive, the courage to reconcile, and the resolve to walk in love and peace.”
He urged citizens to protect the unity of the state, rise above political, ethnic, and religious differences, and embrace their shared identity and common destiny.

On the issue of security he assured residents of his administration’s continuous commitment to maintaining peace and order across the state.
He said that the government was working closely with security agencies and community stakeholders to ensure a peaceful celebration.
He also acknowledged the economic hardship currently facing many Nigerians. He also reaffirmed the Bauchi State Government’s commitment to cushioning the impact through the continued distribution of palliatives, particularly food items, to the most vulnerable groups.
“As a resilient people, I am confident that we will overcome this difficult period, stronger and more united.”
The governor urged Christians to offer prayers during the Easter celebration for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Bauchi State in particular and Nigeria at large.
