Ali Pate, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, may quit President Bola Tinubu’s Ministerial Cabinet for the Bauchi State Governorship Race in 2027 as his School Mates – the Old Boys of the Bakaro at Dangikka Primary School – are calling on him to vie for the Governor’s Seat.

Consequently, Bauchi State Old Boys of the Bakaro, Dangikka Primary School, have endorsed the minister of Health and Social Welfare Development, asking him to run for Bauchi Governor’s Seat in 2027.

The endorsement was contained in a Press Statement signed by Umar Musa, the Secretary of the Association, which was made available to newsmen in Bauchi, the State Capital, saying that Pate’s track record and successes recorded are in no way comparable to many politicians the State can point at and boast of.

The Press Statement partly read, “In our view and candid opinion, the present Coordinating Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate. Pate is Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Development, Professor Ali Pate’s achievements and qualifications make him the best candidate that has all it takes to become Bauchi State Governor 2027.

“We, as his Primary School mates, are proud to be integral part of this journey, because we believe Pate is the right and exemplary leader to take Bauchi State forrward, we will not relent until Pate answers our call to contest and we are committed to working tirelessly to see his success”.

Similarly, the Association said that Ali Pate had helped to create so many Medical Centres and Teaching Hospitals; repositioned Teaching Hospitals, explaining that Pate is responsible and responsive to the needs of Nigerians in the health sector.

“Today, they aspire for better education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, pipe-borne water supply, security and safety, as well as employment and pay. Given that no democracy can endure with a weak legislature, there is the feeling in certain quarters that, where there is a more active Legislative arm, Bauchi State would have been a better place to live and work.

“Bauchi State stands at a crossroads. In an ever-evolving political landscape, If Professor Muhammad Ali Pate’s will accept our call and decide to enter into the Governorship race, it will be more than a political move. It is a rallying cry for those who believe in progressive leadership, integrity, and transformational governance.

“Pate’s candidacy is not just about an election, but about a vision for a better Bauchi State. All that knows can testify. His entry into the Bauchi Governorship Race is not driven by ambition alone but by a pressing need for leadership that is people-centred, transparent and forward-thinking. For too long, the people of Bauchi have sought leadership rooted in competence, accountability, and vision.

“The journey a head demands resilience and determination, but with Professor Muhammad Ali Pate at the helms, Bauchi has the chance to emerge stronger, more prosperous, and more united than ever before. We are happy and praying as the 2027 Election cycle approaches, that Professor Pate will agree and say he will be ready to serve the Bauchi people.

“So it’s not about personal animosities and other parochial things. That’s not our style. Our focus is really to see what we can do to build, not to really divide the polity in Bauchi. We believe Professor Pate has the capacity, because he is a man with a mission to develop the State

“Pate, intensively reduced the cost of dialysis for kidney failure patients across eight States, including Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, looking into massive death of poor Nigeria with immediate effect, under the transformative initiative of Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. He reduced from 50% to 12%, the cost of dialysis”, they said.
