In a landmark celebration of innovation, financial empowerment, and entrepreneurial growth, this year’s edition of the annual wealth summit has been held in Lagos.

The wealth summit initiated and hosted by the Pertinence Group is in its sixth edition and is reputed to be Nigeria’s largest free-entry wealth-creation and financial-empowerment gathering.

This year’s event, tagged ‘The Real Money of Lagos,’ drew more than 7,000 on-site participants to the KICC G3 Event Centre in Maryland, Lagos, with additional sections outside the main hall and thousands more joining online.

The summit, which has run consistently for six years, is renowned for attracting top business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and aspiring wealth creators from across Nigeria.

Attendees ranged from undergraduates arriving in chartered buses to seasoned corporate executives, all seeking practical strategies to build sustainable success.

The highlight of Wealth Summit 6.0 was the official launch of Genius by PettySave, a fintech platform designed to revolutionise business savings, credit access, and wealth creation for everyday Nigerians.

Developed under PettySave Microfinance Bank, the app was introduced by Sunday Olorunsheyi, co-founder of Pertinence Group and Chairman of PettySave MFB, who described it as “a groundbreaking platform set to transform Nigeria’s credit and saving culture.”

“Genius isn’t just giving people another app to save,” Olorunsheyi declared. “It’s an innovative platform for individuals and businesses to grow, save, and earn.”

The app’s unique features include zero-interest credit repayable within 30 days, up to 10% cashback rewards, a built-in marketplace for buying and selling goods and services, tiered referral bonuses, and—for the first time—commission earnings from sales made by referred businesses.

Users can also automate savings as low as 1% on each transaction, with interest-earning options set to daily, weekly, or monthly.

Olorunsheyi emphasized that Genius is more than technology—it’s a tool for empowerment:

“Our mission is to create platforms for financial freedom. Genius is a tool that people can take advantage of to succeed and become financially free. We don’t just complain about the economy; we provide solutions that update people’s lives—just like software updates.”

Co-founder of Pertinence Group, Wisdom Ezekiel reinforced the group’s vision, noting that Genius also serves creators, entrepreneurs, and SMEs by offering a trusted marketplace:

“The first thing we do at the Wealth Summit is provide knowledge. The second is platforms. Genius is one of those platforms—linking people to opportunities, mentorship, and marketplaces so they can leverage them for growth.”

Ezekiel explained how intellectual property owners—authors, content creators, and small-scale producers—can list their work on the Genius Marketplace, sell directly to customers, and automatically save part of their earnings.

“People come back to this summit each year because their version improves,” he added. “Like software, by the time they return, their ‘system’ is upgraded, and they perform better.”

While the Genius App dominated conversations, other renowned speakers used the platform to stress key principles for wealth creation.

Olumide Emmanuel — the “Common Sense Guru”—hailed the app as an innovative solution to bridge the wealth gap between financial goals and actual wealth positions, urging attendees to leverage its benefits for financial freedom.

Damilola Hassan, Managing Director of Meristem Trustees, praised Genius as a structured alternative to traditional savings systems like ajo and esusu, eliminating inconsistencies while connecting merchants to a wider customer network.

Cosmas Maduka, CEO of Coscharis Group, endorsed the app for instilling financial discipline:

“Only a fool spends all he has. Start saving early—even from age five. A gift is a distraction to a king; what matters is access, relationships, and value creation.”

Maduka also shared his personal journey from losing his father at age 10 to building a thriving business empire, crediting discipline, self-belief, and the right attitude.

Other speakers, including Olushola Olaleye, shared insights on leadership, technology, and business systems, reinforcing the summit’s theme of holistic wealth creation.

The summit closed with an atmosphere of optimism, underpinned by practical takeaways: calculated risk-taking, consistent learning, and adapting to market shifts without losing core values.

A raffle draw capped the day, with over 20 attendees winning cash prizes from ₦20,000 to ₦100,000. The grand prize—₦1 million—went to Oluwaseye Ebenezer Oyetunji, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the capital boost to his business.

As Genius by PettySave rolls out nationwide, Sunday Olorunsheyi and Wisdom Ezekiel reaffirmed that Pertinence Group’s mission remains unchanged — empowering Nigerians with platforms, knowledge, and tools to achieve financial freedom.

“With Genius, the future of wealth creation in Nigeria is smarter, more inclusive, and more attainable than ever,” Olorunsheyi concluded.
