The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has enjoined the general public and principals of the schools with withheld or cancelled results in the May/June 2025 WASSCE to ignore the publication purportedly listing the schools.

Moyo Adesina, the Ag head of public affairs at WAEC national office, Yaba-Lagos, told BusinessDay in a phone conversation that the council did not authorise such a publication, and doesn’t have a department as mentioned in the publication.

“Kindly ignore any message listing schools whose results were supposedly cancelled. Meanwhile, WAEC will never ask any centre to bring scripts of candidates to the office. Where would they get them from? Do not accept any message that is not on our handles and accredited media,” WAEC emphasised.

A report supposedly signed by Florence Ajayi, who claimed to be the director of examination malpractice & irregularities at WAEC Nigeria, had stated that WAEC has informed the general public and principals of the schools listed below that the results of their candidates in the May/June 2025 WASSCE have been withheld pending investigations.

This, the statement said, is due to alleged involvement in examination malpractice, in line with WAEC regulations.

“Affected schools are expected to report to the WAEC Lagos Zonal Office within 10 working days of this notice,” the statement said in part.

Ajayi, in the statement, instructed all school principals to appear before the WAEC investigative panel on or before August 16, 2025, with supporting documentation and the exam scripts of the affected candidates, where applicable.

The listed schools include Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, Ikorodu; Atlantic Hall, Epe; Redeemer’s High School, Mowe; Grange School, Ikeja; Greensprings School, Lekki; St. Francis Catholic Secondary School, Idimu; Igbobi College, Yaba; Lagoon School, Lekki; and Vivian Fowler Memorial College, Ikeja

Others are White Sands School, Lekki; Dowen College, Lekki; King’s College, Lagos Island; Baptist Academy, Obanikoro; Caleb International College, Magodo; Chrisland College, Idimu; Chrisland High School, VGC; Caro Favoured College, Ajegunle; Dansol High School, Ikeja; Immaculate Heart Comprehensive School, Maryland; Command Day Secondary School, Ikeja; and Ronik Comprehensive School, Ejigbo.

Also listed are Princeton College, Surulere; Apostolic Faith Secondary School, Anthony; Grace High School, Gbagada; Methodist Boys High School, Victoria Island; Methodist Girls High School, Yaba; St. Michael’s Model School, Mushin; St. Anthony’s Grammar School, Ijebu Mushin; Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Yaba; Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Maryland; Top Faith International School, Uyo; Corona Secondary School, Agbara; and Apostolic Faith High School, Igbesa, among others.

WAEC has instructed everyone concerned and the general public to disregard this publication, as it did not emanate from the council.

Additionally, the council reiterated that it does not have a department as mentioned in the report.
