…residents in flood-prone areas urged to stay alert
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a warning of possible flooding in parts of Adamawa, Taraba, and Gombe States, following forecasts of sustained thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across the country.
According to NiMet’s daily weather outlook for Monday, 15th September 2025, on its X handle, several northern states, including Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi, Kebbi, Adamawa, and Taraba, will experience isolated thunderstorms in the morning, while more widespread thunderstorms are expected in Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, and other states later in the day.
The agency noted that heavy downpours in flood-prone areas of the North-East could trigger flash floods, urging residents to remain cautious and prepared.
