Jessica A Oku, finance strategist and founder of Scaleup Coaching Inc., launched her debut book, The Cashflow Prioritization Matrix™, at a virtual event on June 28, 2025. The event brought together a global audience of founders, CFOs, CEOs, and finance professionals from countries including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria.

Oku explained that the framework is designed to help business owners decide “what to pay now, what can wait, what to reduce, and what to stop spending on.” She said the matrix is based on two core factors: urgency and impact on growth, with each expense placed in one of four quadrants to guide decision-making.

Hosted via Google Meet and LinkedIn, the session introduced the Cashflow Prioritization Matrix (CPM), a tool developed to help businesses make clearer decisions about spending. The session allowed for live interaction, with participants asking questions, sharing thoughts, and requesting to repost the CPM Matrix slide.

During the launch, Oku encouraged attendees to move away from reactive money management and adopt a more disciplined approach, calling for a shift to what she described as a “#cashflowfirstculture”. She noted that many businesses struggle not because of revenue shortages but because of poor cashflow choices.
The event featured examples from the CPM Workbook and case studies from businesses applying the framework. Attendees highlighted the tool’s clarity, with one CEO commenting that the matrix helped her understand how to manage spending without needing a finance background.

One of the key moments of the session came when a participant asked how the matrix could be applied by businesses that are not yet generating revenue. Oku responded by urging founders to manage their personal or seed capital with the same discipline as investor funds.

Oku also shared her plans to help entrepreneurs implement the matrix through challenges, coaching, and digital tools. She encouraged readers to not just finish the book but to apply its lessons, complete the workbook, and review their past expenses through the lens of the CPM. She also pointed to an active LinkedIn community where readers could engage, share experiences, and remain accountable.

The book is available at the Scaleup Cashflow website and on Amazon and includes access to the workbook and additional resources.
Oku closed the launch with a reminder: “Not all cash outflows are created equal. Some are fuel. Some are fluff. Know the difference and you’ll never run out of cash again.”
