Hundreds of youths and women from Ijare ancient town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Monday stormed the Ondo State High Court, sitting in Akure to protest the detention of their traditional ruler, Aladeseyi Adekolajo in custody by the Court.
Recall that a Chief Magistrate Court, sitting in Akure, on Thursday last week ordered the remand of Adekolajo in custody, who allegedly paraded himself as the Olujare of Ijare, without official approval.
Aside from Adekolajo, other defendants who were arraigned before the court included, Fasore Lawrence (63), Ajidahun Abraham (50) and Adegbenro Akanle (63).
According to the Police Prosecutor, Babatunde Ajiboye, the defendants conspired and conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause public disorder.
