Asue Ighodalo, the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21, 2024, election in Edo State, has refuted his alleged resignation from the party.

The Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO) refuted this in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City, Edo State Capital.

The statement signed by Erhabor Emokpae, team lead of TAMO, said the denial was occasioned by a viral video circulating in various online platforms, alleging that the Governorship candidate had dumped the party.

The Media team, however, urged the public to disregard “this baseless fabrication and the mischief behind it.

It noted that the fake news was aimed at misleading the party’s supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.

“The attention of Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO) has been drawn to a video circulating online alleging that Dr. Asue Ighodalo had left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“This claim is false. Dr. Ighodalo remains a member of the PDP. We urge the public to disregard this baseless fabrication and the mischief behind it, which is aimed at misleading our supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.

“Dr. Ighodalo remains focused on his vision for a prosperous and safe Edo, and on strengthening the PDP as a platform that truly protects the interests of the people”, he said.
