Emir of Ilorin organizes special prayer to seek devine intervention on security

Mai-Martaba Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers has reaffirmed his commitment to complementing government’s efforts in tackling insecurity and other social vices.

The Emir said this Thursday during a special prayer session held at his palace in Ilorin the state capital.

The monarch commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his proactive measures in combating insecurity and banditry in the state, noting that the role of traditional institutions as custodians of peace and stability cannot be overemphasized.

Expressing concern over the prevailing security challenges across the country, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari applauded governments at all levels for their determination to curb criminal activities and restore peace.

The prayer was attended by top government officials including Razaq Jiddah, Saadudeen Salaudeen, representatives of the Kwara State Government, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, as well as traditional chiefs, Islamic scholars, community associations, and party leaders across the Ilorin Emirate.

According to the Emir, the special prayer was convened to seek divine intervention and to support the tireless efforts of government institutions and security agencies in making Kwara State and Nigeria peaceful and secure for all.

The Emir, however, charged the Chief Imam of Ilorin and other Imams in Ilorin Emirate and across the state to continue to offer special prayers for peace and tranquility to reign in Ilorin, Kwara, and Nigeria as whole.

Leading the prayer, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih, prayed for peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, and social harmony across the state and the nation. He also committed the people of Kwara State and Nigeria into the hands of Almighty Allah for continued protection, guidance, and blessings.
