Elite Logistics and Development Services Limited has unveiled an ambitious plan to train 40,000 Nigerian youths on the fabrication and deployment of its solar-powered Elite Smart Kiosk, a multipurpose unit with applications ranging from retail to financial services.
The company said the nationwide programme, scheduled to commence in the last quarter of 2025, will equip at least 1,000 beneficiaries from each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with hands-on skills in carpentry, electrical works, solar panel installation, and kiosk assembly.
Speaking in Abuja, David Adesanya, the Group Managing Director of Elite Logistics, described the initiative as both a technology-driven empowerment model and a strategic response to Nigeria’s rising unemployment crisis.
He said the company’s goal is to position youths to enter 2026 “with a skill that will usher them into robust economic opportunity.”
“The Elite Smart Kiosk has a vast economic value chain capable of lifting people from obscurity to prosperity. It is a tool that can be adopted by governments, NGOs, and development agencies as a sustainable empowerment model,” Adesanya said.
The Elite Smart Kiosk is a solar-powered compartment adaptable for multiple uses, including point-of-sale (POS) banking services, ICT hubs, multimedia centres, healthcare dispensary units, unisex salons, barbershops, convenience stores, exhibition stands, and security outposts.
Adesanya highlighted that the kiosks are energy-efficient, low-maintenance, and aesthetically designed to suit different business and social purposes.
Beyond providing entrepreneurs with ready-made facilities, he noted, the fabrication and installation processes would themselves create a ripple of job opportunities across carpentry, electrical work, and solar technology.
“This innovation is not just about technology, it is about job creation. Every kiosk fabricated involves skilled labour, every kiosk installed creates a business opportunity, and every kiosk deployed supports direct employment,” he added.
The company urged political leaders, development partners, and philanthropists to adopt the kiosks as empowerment vehicles, especially for unemployed and underemployed youths. Adesanya also stressed that Nigerians of all ages, including those above 40, stand to benefit from the opportunities presented by the programme.
As part of the rollout, Elite Logistics is calling on youths in the North Central states, Kogi, Benue, Niger, Plateau, and Kwara to participate actively, positioning themselves for what the firm describes as “a new wave of economic inclusion.”
