Docenti Global Business School has graduated the first set of participants from its Employability Skills Development Programme, a training designed to help young Africans transition from education to the workplace. The graduation ceremony, held at the Lagos Learning Hub, also marked the launch of the second cohort, scheduled to start in August 2025.
Seventeen participants completed the school’s Corporate Foundation Programme, a six-month training focused on practical workplace skills. The programme covered Microsoft Excel, data management, digital marketing, leadership, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence. It also included career development modules such as CV writing, interview techniques, personal branding, and effective communication for business.
Principal Director, Associate Professor Humphrey Akanazu, told participants that the school’s mission goes beyond training.
“What we are witnessing is not just the end of a training session but the beginning of transformative careers. We are deeply committed to bridging the gap between academic qualifications and workplace readiness,” Akanazu said.
The Employability Skills Development Programme is open to recent graduates and professionals seeking to improve their career prospects. Through the Corporate Foundation Programme, participants gain exposure to industry expectations while building skills that improve their confidence and employability.
In addition to the foundation track, Docenti Global Business School runs sector-focused courses, including a Data Science Diploma for analytics-based roles and a Restaurant and Bar Programme designed for the hospitality sector.
With applications open for the second cohort, participants will benefit from hands-on projects, instructor-led sessions, and certification through the Skill Development Council Canada. The school is also expanding its reach by building partnerships, onboarding new team members, and increasing awareness of its offerings.
Founded by Associate Professor Akanazu in partnership with Canadian and United States institutions, Docenti Global Business School delivers industry-aligned learning to help Africans secure employment and grow in their careers.
