Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) has introduced the CcHUB Teachers’ Awards, a new initiative to recognise teachers who are using technology and collaboration to improve learning across Nigeria.
Nissi Madu, Managing Partner at CcHUB, said: “Teachers are central to Africa’s education transformation. At CcHUB, we believe that when teachers are empowered through technology, mentorship, and peer support, they are better equipped to innovate in the classroom and enhance the quality of teaching and learning. This is why we are excited to launch the CcHUB Teachers’ Awards — a celebration of educators who are reimagining learning and leading within their communities.”
The announcement was made during the organisation’s 2025 World Teachers’ Day activities. The awards will provide cash prizes, tablets, professional development opportunities, and membership of the CcHUB Teachers’ Lounge, a platform designed to encourage shared learning and professional growth. The programme highlights teachers who show initiative and innovation by applying digital tools in the classroom and creating links that strengthen teaching within their communities.
The awards are part of a wider initiative marking October as Teachers’ Month, held under the theme “Teacher Agency: Empowered by Community, Amplified by Technology.” The theme aligns with UNESCO’s 2025 call to recast teaching as a collaborative profession. According to CcHUB, the focus reflects a belief that community and technology are key to improving education systems and outcomes.
Throughout the month, CcHUB is running campaigns and events that highlight teachers’ contributions and explore new tools for education. These include online town halls, webinars on the role of Artificial Intelligence in education, and discounted access to digital resources that promote lifelong learning and digital literacy among teachers.
CcHUB has worked for more than a decade to strengthen the education sector through teacher communities, instructional design fellowships, and support for educational technology organisations. It collaborates with government, private sector, and philanthropic partners to test and scale digital learning tools aimed at improving access and outcomes for learners.
By launching the Teachers’ Awards and dedicating October to celebrating educators, CcHUB restates its commitment to building connected teacher networks and providing the tools that enable teachers to succeed.
