Former deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Peremobo- wei Ebebi, has predicted victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state.

Ebebi, who is the PDP Presi-dential Campaign coordinator in Bayelsa West Senatorial District, made the prediction in an interview with journalists at Ayamasa in the local government area.

Giving reasons for his optimism, he disclosed that apart from the campaign, there is also a serious grassroots mobilisation to ensure total victory for the party’s candidates in the forthcoming general election.

The campaign train made seven stops in the local government area and Ebebi explained that the crowds at the rallies were also indications of the strong sup- port the PDP has in the area.

The campaign took them to Ndoro, Peretoru-Gbene, Eker- emor Town, Aleibiri and terminated at Ayamasa for a brief break before resuming with Sagbama Local Government Area.

He stated that the electoral promises by the PDP candidates would further swing voters in their support as no other party has put together such a comprehensive package for the elector- ate.

The candidates are Foster Ogola for Senate, Fred Agbedi for the House of Representatives and Ball Oyarede, Kemelayefa Omonibeke and Michael Ogbere for Ekeremor Constituency I, II and III respectively.

Ebebi described them as the best representatives the party has put forward for the forthcoming general elections to ensure victory saying “They are our first 11.”

The candidates had assured the electorate that they will work together to lobby the Federal Government to take over the Sagbama-Ekeremor-Agge road and extend the national grid to the area.

Other areas in which they promised to affect the lives of the people positively include work- ing with the state government to actualise the Agege deep seaport project, employment, cooperatives and an education fund.

Meanwhile, there appears to be growing support for the re- election of President Goodluck Jonathan with his endorsement for second tenure by various minority ethnic nationalities in the country.

Minority ethnic nationalities recently came together in Yenagoa under the auspices of Congress for Equality and Change (CEC), saying that President Jonathan is an embodiment of freedom for the oppressed. At the forum chaired by Ameh Ebute, former Senate president, the minorities stated their sup- port for the president’s re-election to enable him continue his developmental strides in the country.
