The 10th edition of Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria concluded on a high note, marking a significant milestone as the region’s leading platform for innovation in the agrofood, plastics, printing, and packaging sectors.
Organised by German-based fairtrade Messe GmbH, the three-day event held at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, witnessed an 18.5 percent surge in attendance, drawing 2,230 industry professionals from across West and Central Africa.
Paul Maerz, managing director of fairtrade Messe GmbH, said, “The success of the 10th edition confirms Lagos as the heartbeat of trade and innovation in West Africa. This event continues to grow as a regional powerhouse.”
He further emphasised the significance of the high-level participation from both the government and the private sector, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable and scalable solutions within the agrofood and plastprintpack value chains.
The organisers disclosed that this year’s edition showcased cutting-edge technologies and solutions that are shaping Nigeria’s industrial landscape.
“The exhibition featured national pavilions from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, China, and South Africa, alongside leading Nigerian innovators. Notably, Germany served as the official Guest of Honour for the 2025 edition, underscoring its continued dedication to Nigeria’s industrial progress.”
“Exhibitors reported a wider international reach, connecting with trade visitors from all corners of Nigeria and neighbouring West and Central African markets,” it said.
Beyond the bustling exhibition floor, the event facilitated thousands of targeted business discussions among industry stakeholders. The accompanying conference program featured an impressive forty-two sessions with ninety expert speakers, who provided invaluable insights into crucial industry trends, policy frameworks, and emerging investment opportunities.
Looking towards the future, Fairtrade Messe GmbH announced that the Netherlands will be the official Guest of Honour for the 2026 edition. This move signifies the strong and enduring partnership between Nigeria and the Dutch Government in the agrofood sector. “The move will further spotlight Dutch expertise in sustainable agriculture and food systems, opening new pathways for collaboration, investment, and knowledge exchange,” explained Maerz.
The next edition of Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria is scheduled to take place from March 24 to 26, 2026, once again at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, promising to build upon the remarkable success of its tenth anniversary.
