The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has commenced the 2025 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) and National Immunisation Coverage Survey (NICS), targeting 20 households in each of the 50 clusters selected in Kaduna State.
The survey, aimed at collecting household data—particularly on women and children in the areas of education, health, and potable water to reduce school dropout rates and address mortality—will cover all 23 local government areas in Kaduna State and is expected to take 67 days.

Addressing journalists during a monitoring visit by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) at Rigasa, Rigami Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday, Raymond Yohana, Kaduna State Officer, NBS, said the survey will help the government plan welfare programmes for the people.
“We are on the third day of the 2025 MICS/NICS in Kaduna State, generating data on women and children to help the government plan effectively. People should provide accurate information and cooperate with our enumerators. The data will help the government reduce mortality, address school dropout, alleviate poverty, improve standards of living, and reduce vulnerability to insecurity,” he said.
“The MICS/NICS survey takes place every five years. It identifies the needs of the people in health, education, and water, enabling the government to plan welfare initiatives,” he added.
Also speaking, Husseni Bala Habu, Program Monitoring Specialist, UNICEF Kaduna, said that 10 enumerators, along with a monitor and a supervisor, are conducting the survey, urging community members to cooperate fully with the enumerators.
