The National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) has approved Muyideen Lawal for fellowship (FNIPES), the institute’s highest honour reserved for professionals who have made outstanding contributions to engineering and the applied sciences. Lawal’s fellowship follows a rigorous peer-review by a Fellowship Committee of nationally and internationally recognised experts and final approval by the NIPES Board of Directors.
Lawal is a seasoned Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) strategist with over 15 years of leadership in IT audit, threat management, and regulatory compliance across multiple industries. He is the innovator behind CTAT™, a proprietary Cybersecurity Threat Analysis Tool that reframes cyber readiness as a business-critical capability by linking threat visibility, compliance, and resilience to measurable operational outcomes.
“NIPES Fellowship is a profound honour,” Lawal said. “I am deeply grateful to the Fellowship Committee and the Board for this recognition. This fellowship validates the work we’re doing to elevate cyber resilience from an IT checkbox to an enterprise priority. I remain committed to advancing practical, scalable solutions, through CTAT™, collaboration with industry and regulators, and mentorship of the next generation of practitioners, to protect critical systems and enable sustainable growth.”
NIPES highlighted Lawal’s sustained impact on strengthening security postures, improving compliance maturity, and promoting cross-sector collaboration. The Fellowship recognises both technical excellence and meaningful contributions to professional development and public trust in engineering disciplines.
As a FNIPES fellow, Lawal will join a select group of professionals tasked with advising on standards, capacity building, and public-interest projects that advance national resilience. Colleagues praised his blend of technical depth and strategic leadership, noting that his appointment arrives at a critical moment when organisations must translate cyber investments into measurable readiness and business continuity.
