Succour has come to residents of Dong community in Jos-North Local Government Area of Plateau State with the commissioning of a new Police Out-Station aimed at strengthening security and improving police presence in the area.
The facility was commissioned on Monday by Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Plateau State governor following the approval of Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police.
The governor was represented at the event by Nanchang Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the State Government.

The out-station was built and fully furnished by the leadership of Jos-North Local Government Area in response to persistent security concerns raised by residents of the Dong community, underscoring local government involvement in grassroots security architecture.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Mutfwang, commended the Plateau State Police Command for its professionalism and commitment to peace across the state. He urged residents to actively support security agencies by remaining vigilant and cooperating with law enforcement officers.
“The government appreciates the dedication and diligence of the Commissioner of Police and officers under his command in ensuring relative peace in Plateau State. Community members must also see security as a collective responsibility and support the police with timely and credible information,” the governor said.
Also speaking, Emmanuel Adesina, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau state command expressed appreciation to the state government for its consistent support, noting that such collaboration has enhanced the Command’s capacity to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.
“I sincerely thank the Plateau State Government under the leadership of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the unwavering support given to the Police Command,” Adesina said.
He also lauded J.K Chris, the Chairman of Jos-North LGA, “for his passion and commitment to the safety and security of his people.”
